Résumé : The units group of a number field were, historically, the first important examples of a f initely generated abelian groups. Eisenstein getting the structure of the group of units for cubic fields, Kronecker for the cyclotomic fields. Shortly before Dirichlet, in 1846, shows the general theorem. Can be Finding algorithms to produce explicit generators for units groups is one of the tasks of computational number theory.
