After a Master degree in Mathematics, he defended his PhD in 1987 at the University of Montpellier II, and obtained a Post doctoral fellowship at the same university (1987-1992). Jan Slovak, Brno, Czech Republic. Jan Slovák is Full Professor of Mathematics at Masaryk University. He was born in 1960 in Berlin and obtained his PhD at Charles University in Prague in 1990. He has been working as Professor and Researcher in the field of differential geometry at Universität Wien, Austria, and at Adelaide University, Australia, at Masaryk University on a long term basis, and he also worked at a number of other research centers abroad.
