Welcome
Morocco's new development model was launched by His Majesty King Mohammed VI on 31 July 2019, on the occasion of Throne Day. Since then, major projects have been inaugurated, such as the new development strategy for the agricultural sector, dubbed "Green Generation 2020-2030", and the national water and forestry strategy, dubbed "Moroccan Forests", which will facilitate the movement of goods and people between Europe and Africa. To achieve this ambition, Morocco will have to rise to a number of challenges and catch up by making significant progress in areas where there are major deficits, such as the quality of education, the participation of women and water conservation, which would act as a brake on development if they were not significantly improved. It will also be necessary to boldly seize every opportunity available to Morocco to accelerate its development, by betting on the future and setting objectives of excellence in strategic and transformational areas, divided between the following sectors:
- Phosphates;
- Environm
- Renewable energy;
- Electrical infrastructure;
- Road infrastructure;
- Ports;
- Water desalination, and drinking-water recovry;
- Minerals and hydrocarbons;
- Marine fisheries;
- Integrated and sustainable agriculture;
- Urban rehabilitation;
- Social sector;
- Circular and digital economy;
- Handicrafts;
- Tourism.
The 1st International Congress on Materials, Biomaterials, Environmental Sciences, & Technology will take place on May 29-31, 2024, at the conference center USMBA & EUROMED in Fez, Morocco. This face-to-face congress is co-organized by Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah University, Euromed University, and National Center for Energy, Nuclear Sciences and Technology.
ICMBEST-2024 will bring together more than 100 international experts from academia, industry, government, and state agencies. Researchers and professionals will be able to share their knowledge and experience in the field of environmental sciences. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss the most recent innovations as well as initiate potential complementary cooperation and collaboration through international programs by putting international experts in direct contact.
The congress will focus on scientific research, industry, and sustainable development in Africa, and will address topics such as energy security, environmental sustainability, biosaline agriculture, water treatment and reuse, process control systems for the food industry, and phosphate-based materials for energy and environmental sustainability, among others.
The program will include keynote lectures, oral presentations, and poster sessions over the course of the three days of the congress.

The main objective
is to bring together leading academic scientists, researchers and industrials from Africa, North and South America, Europe, Asia, Australia and Middle East to exchange and share their experiences and results related to Material and Environmental Science. ICMBEST is providing an interdisciplinary platform for researchers and industrials all over the world with complementary, strong and diverse expertise. The participants will have the opportunity to discuss the most recent innovations as well as to initiate possible complementary cooperation and collaboration through international programs by creating a direct contact between international experts.
The goal here is also to promote exchange of Master, PhD students and Post docs between the different academic partners.The organizing committee sincerely invites you to participate in ICMBEST2024 and join this international scientific event. We are looking forward to seeing and meeting with you in fez.
Authors are invited to submit their abstracts or complete papers in English. Papers will be presented in different poster sessions.
